How We Deal with Gravity by Ginger Scott

My Rating--->  5 of 5 STARS

    I have never read anything written by Ginger Scott before and after reading this novel I now want to read anything and everything associated with her! This novel was wonderfully written, the characters are well written and easy to relate to, and the story line is an emotional roller-coaster!

    I fell in love with the bad boy, singer/song writer with a large heart. I also fell in love with a wonderful story about a family and the way it can effect them when living with an autistic child. The adjustments it takes to an everyday life and how it can make you realize what really matters in life and toughen you against the things that don't.

    The family dynamic in this novel is amazing, I love how Mason and Avery have such a close relationship with Ray and how he makes up such a huge part of their lives and this story. I just love the depth this novel has and I cried, laughed and swooned over the bond that forged between Mason and Max, Avery's autistic son.

    This is a wonderful read and it touched my heart, I will be recommending this book and author Ginger Scott to anyone that will listen.

All's Fair in Love and Cupcakes by Betsy St. Amant

My Rating---> 3 of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 22nd, 2014

    This a cute one, I really liked it. Betsy St. Amant did a wonderful job, the writing was well done, the story line romantic, cute and entertaining in a bubbling, awkward, don't know how to deal relationships kind of way. I loved the uncertainty and how the two main characters, Kat and Lucas so obviously love each other and don't know how to broach the subject or express the emotion.

    The cupcake show is amazing, I love how St. Amant worked in the behind the scenes, stress and pressure they are under and how it pulls Kat and Lucas apart before pushing them together. This is just an amazingly well put together book and I really enjoyed reading it. It has great humor and an adorable best friend combo not sure of themselves but completely confident in each other.

Broken by Lauren Layne

    This is a great novel, it was very well written and had a great story line. Stories about our soldiers and how they are coping with being back home are rare and they shouldn't be. It's even more difficult to find a novel with this topic that is actually good and this is just that, Lauren Layne did an exceptional job and I look forward to reading more from her in the future.

    A wounded Veteran, Paul, is home and isn't enjoying being forced to have someone take care of him. He keeps running them all off because he sees himself as a monster, due to his injuries. Until Olivia comes in as a replacement and she shakes up his world. Olivia teaches Paul to live again and how to accept being loved. But Olivia is hiding a secret about why she took the job and Paul is more a bit curious and willing to find out.

    This was a great story with high emotions, it is beautifully done and worth reading, take a look at it and give it a chance. Sorry I don't have a lot to say about it but this novel is more of the type you have to read to understand, the emotional roller-coaster and craziness you have to read to believe, very close to real deal when it comes to a scared man dealing with a huge change in life.

A Vault of Sins by Sarah Harian

My Rating---> 5 of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 22nd, 2014

-----THIS IS BOOK 2 IN THE CHAOS THEORY-----

    Holy SHIT this was amazing!! I literally have no other words, I loved every word of it! Katniss Everdeen and Peeta Mellark have nothing on Evalyn Ibarra and Casey Hargrove!! Sarah Harian you are amazing, the writing was done beautifully, the description was perfect, the story line completely original and out of the box (or in it for our criminals).

    A world where you commit a crime and can be given the opportunity to win back your freedom, what's the catch you say? You have to survive a nice long stay in a Compass Room, imagine a forest where you have to live off the land, try not to get killed by your surroundings or  the other criminals, but are also subjected to reliving your crime in some twisted and messed up ways over and over again until you either snap and get killed or prove you are reformed and remorseful for your crime.

    Evalyn is amazing, she kicked ass in the first novel but in the sequel she doesn't have nearly as much help and man is she a bad ass! After winning her freedom, along with Casey and Valerie the three lose a court case and go their separate ways. The ladies turn to booze to cope with the trauma, and PTSD that they are constantly living with and trying to get through. Circumstances arise and Valerie ends up getting brought in due to re-trial of her crimes and thrown back into the Compass Room again, Evalyn takes it upon herself to make a deal to turn herself in. Evalyn goes into the Compass Room to save Valerie and take down the Compass Room and the company behind it.

    This book delivered in the same way the first book, "The Wicked We Have Done", did. Non stop action, violence, trauma, and a bit of love. I absolutely loved this novel as much as the first and cannot wait for the next in the series! If you like Dystopian novels, chaos and violent criminals getting put through the ringer than this is a series I suggest you don't miss out on!

The Certainty of Violet & Luke by Jessica Sorensen

My Rating---> 5 of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 22nd, 2014

Purchase This on Amazon HERE

-----THIS IS BOOK 5 IN THE COINCIDENCE SERIES-----
-----BOOK 3 FOR VIOLET & LUKE-----

    This is a wonderful follow through to Violet and Luke's story, I love these two, they are completely lost souls that fall apart at separate intervals, in book 3 Luke is a mess and Violet pulls him through, and in book 4 shocking news rips them apart inside and just when Violet needs someone to put her pieces back together, Luke pulls it together and tries to be there and be everything Violet could ever need or want. Now in book 5 we get to see them fall completely in love and work through all the crazy that was left unresolved in book 4. I love the chemistry, love and willingness to be or do anything for one another.

    Author Jessica Sorensen is an amazing novelist with a large library in several genres under her belt, Sorensen has the flexibility, creativity and talent to pull them all off. Her books have it all, emotion, depth, mystery, action, conflict, romance, and in these NA (New Adult) novels, there is steamy sex.

    I'm not here to tell you what this book or the series is about, go read a synopsis for that information, what I will tell you is that the drama and uniqueness of Violet and Luke's story is unlike any other I have ever encountered. Violet falls into Luke's path and they weather through anything and everything imaginable from that moment on. Now that I have said that, I have to drop in the fact that the ending of this book was shocking and oh so incredible, for sure the best one so far!

    Please for the sake of my sanity read this series, or anything at all written by Jessica Sorensen, because it is all fantastic. This is a link to the first book in The Coincidence series, named
 The Coincidence of Callie & Kayden or maybe you just want to buy the first book about Violet and Luke, here is The Destiny of Violet & Luke

Once Haunted, Twice Shy by H.P. Mallory

My Rating---> 5 of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 21st, 2014

-----THIS IS BOOK 2 IN THE PEYTON CLARK SERIES-----

    Okay....I LOVE this series!! H.P. Mallory is an AMAZING novelist, I have read tons of her novels and I love them all! Mallory has action, adventure, mystery, murder, love, comedy and TONS of sass! What more could you ask for? This series is about Peyton Clark whom has inherited a large estate in New Orleans, and just in time to say good riddance to a loveless husband and marriage combo that she had been looking for a way out of. After moving in she realizes the home needs quiet a bit of renovation, que the hunky neighbor man to the rescue! But when things start going a bit strange around the house, and Peyton starts having visions of a tall dark and totally handsome peace officer from way back when, she realizes that her home is haunted by not one but two spirits.

    In the first book in the series, "Ghouls Rush In" we meet and fall in love with Ryan aka the hunky neighbor/contractor, and (my personal favorite character) Drake aka our handsome peace officer/friendly ghost. Peyton and Ryan's relationship is slightly strange, it happened really quickly for my liking but ce la vi, Ryan is always taking up for Peyton and is just all around a perfect man, but Drake ahhhh. I love Drake, he is Peyton's savior in so many ways, he's flirty, fun and his banter with Peyton really makes these novels!

    Our not so friendly ghost that Peyton needs protecting from is actually a demon that goes by the name of The Axeman, he is a serial killer that strikes periodically throughout the ages. This novel was better than the first in my opinion, it had more emotion and took the story to the next level. I actually cried at one point (I know it shocked me too), but really the introduction to the voodoo lady and the things that it brings us to, I will just say I am SO excited to see where Mallory is going to take it in the next novel!

    If you have not read anything by H.P. Mallory, GO, GO NOW and read ANYTHING written by her! My favorites are: The Dulcie O'Neil series, Book 1 is  "To Kill a Warlock" Purchase this on Amazon HERE ; The Jolie Wilkins series, Book 1 is "Fire Burn And Cauldron Bubble" Free on Amazon HERE ; and last but not The Lily Harper series, Book 1 "Better Off Dead" Free on Amazon HERE , oh wait, is that all of her novel series? Maybe....But totally worth it!

Falling into Place by Amy Zhang

My Rating---> 3 of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 21st, 2014

Purchase on Amazon HERE

    I actually really liked this book, the seriousness of it was huge and a bit daunting but it is a topic that needs to be addressed more. I will just throw it out there for you, TEEN SUICIDE!

    I really liked the characters and their struggle through out, and the angle that author Amy Zhang went with this book, the POV is done extremely well and is a really new and refreshing angle to read from. I LOVED how Zhang had everyone and their feelings being expressed and how she ended every chapter with a snap shot insight into Liz's life behind her portrayed image.

    I didn't like Liz at first but as the novel progressed and the layers to her were pealed back I actually started to connect with her and feel for her, although she took a more cowardly route than I would have I understood what was going on behind the scenes. Liz puts on a great front or facade for EVERYONE, but Liam sees through and he seems to be the only one, although when her closest friends Kennie and Julia look back on some of their memories they start to recognize some of the signs that something may not have been alright in Liz's world.

    I felt as though there wasn't a whole lot of resolution in the end, loose ties with where things go from there, what ever becomes of the amazing Liam, and between Liz, Julia and Kennie? Does Liz's mom snap out of her depression and take time off work to repair her relationship with Liz? I wish I could these questions answered, maybe a sequel is in the works Amy Zhang? Despite the unresolved topics on my mind I feel like this was a great read, very well written and I would recommend it to my friends!

Wounded by Shannon Mayer

My Rating---> 5 of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 20th, 2014

-----THIS IS BOOK 8 IN THE RYLEE ADAMSON SERIES-----

    I have read all the books in this series and I have loved them all, Shannon Mayer is a fantastic author and I will continue to read her work in the future. I love how different this series is from most of the paranormal novels out these, Mayer went all out and created a whole new world, and her characters are amazing. I love Rylee, she is a take no shit girl, she has a difficult past that she is still overcoming and she can fight better than any man, but she also has a huge heart and a ton of sass and sarcasm.

    This novel brings us to a difficult relationship ending, soul crushing moment and a HUGE realization (I can't say I didn't kind of see it coming but to have my suspicions conformed was amazing) that Liam throws at Rylee while she is already dealing with so much. I have to say that if it weren't for the news Liam imparts on Rylee she probably would have broken down to a useless mess, so it was perfectly timed. I pray to all things holy that she forgives Doran, because I love him to death (and have always liked him more than Liam), that Pam pulls through and blows away all the nasties, and that Alex finally remembers himself and how to shift.

    Shannon Mayer knows how to weave a story that pulls at all your heart strings, draws out your emotions, thoroughly entertains, and and makes you laugh out loud. If you have not read this series and you are looking for something paranormal that isn't anything like what you have read before, try out this series, it is amazing! Screwdrivered by Alice Clayton

My Rating---> 5 of 5 STARS

-----THIS IS BOOK 3 IN THE COCKTAIL SERIES-----

    Okay, Alice Clayton is amazing! This is her third book in the "Cocktail" series and they just keep getting better and better! I would have to say that without a doubt I fell in love with Viv at her high school reunion, but after reading this book, she is now my all time favorite character of all time!

    I fell head over heels in love with this series and Clayton's writing after less than one paragraph into "Wallbanger", the first book in this series. All the female characters are outrageously funny, but not in an over the top kind of way, they are just like any normal group of friends. These girls are so easy to relate to that I felt as if some of their conversations were ripped straight out of my life. The men are great, and have their own quirky personalities that fit so perfectly with the each other, all of the characters are extremely easy-going, easy relatable to, and so amusing that you will want to re-read the whole series. Really the dialog and story lines in all of Clayton's novels are amazingly done and should not be missed!

    I have to say (not just because I love her) Viv was a FANTASTIC female lead. She is an very smart young woman, software engineer with her own company, she has tattoos for days and a ton of piercings! But the best part (and my favorite characteristic) is Viv’s imagination! It just takes over and suddenly she is thrown into a world where she is bodice wearing heroin in need of a good ravishing from a muscular and sweaty cowboy, or a pillaging pirate or even a naughty librarian (hey woman fantasize about those too). She could blame it on all the romance novels she reads, but It reminded me so much of myself that I know it's just a cop out to do that. Also the things that would slip out of her mouth, this girl is too much, too much awesome that is!

    If you haven't read any of the books in this series I STRONGLY suggest you do so immediately, you will NOT regret it because Alice Clayton is a genius with words!

Right Kind of Wrong by Chelsea Fine

My Rating---> 5 of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 20th, 2014

-----THIS IS BOOK 3 IN THE FINDING FATE SERIES-----

    I absolutely adore this series, and this book is just as good as the two before it! Chelsea Fine is an amazing writer, her story lines are fantastic with just the right amount of humor, drama, romance and danger. Fine's writes dialog in a spectacular way, the characters have depth and she has definitely conquered the New Adult genre! Fine has an uncanny and unmatched way of making all of her stories and characters so fresh and easy to relate to it's damn near impossible to put any of her books down.

    I loved watching each of the couples stories unfold, although Jack and Jenna's story isn't my favorite, they are my favorite couple in this series. (I would say my favorite is Kayla and Darren's story in "Perfect Kind of Trouble", if you haven't read it, it's book two in this series and you need to go read it now.) I'm not going to tell you too much about the story line because, hey, I'm telling you it is amazing so just know that and go read it, but also because if you are reading this, it's for my opinion on the book and author not to know what the story is about (they write a synopsis for that).

    Best friends, opposite sex, hooked up once and swept it under the rug like it never happened, they are in love, but one is afraid to admit it to the other and the other is afraid to admit to their self. They like to push each others buttons, so they bicker like an old married couple, but for different personal family reasons they both end up on a road trip together. Being stuck together on a cross country road trip forces them to deal with the feelings they buried and have been avoiding since the night they hooked up. Let me tell you, the chemistry and the sexual tension run thick, high and is undeniably HOT! These two hit snags and go through some deep personal sh*t. Read the book to know what all happens and how it all turns out.

    Fantastic read once again, Chelsea Fine I am a huge fan of your creative mind, please keep up the fantastic work!

One More Chance by Abbi Glines

----THIS IS BOOK 7 IN THE ROSEMARY BEACH SERIES----

    Oh My Holy Crud! I love every thing Abbi Glines writes, and everyone she writes! I fell in love with her writing while reading "The Vincent Boys" and have just fallen deeper and deeper for Glines' characters, story lines and writing style. This the dramatic and heart-wrenching second half of Grant and Harlow's story is no exception. The emotions run high from the start and just keep going.

    Harlow is one of my favorite characters written by Glines so far, she has a heart condition and has been told her whole life she can't have what most women always dream of having, a child with the love of her life. But she's a fighter, always has been and always will be. So does her heart condition slow her down, nope, will it stop her from doing the things she wants most to do, hell no, but will she survive it? Guess what...I'm not gonna tell you, so go pick up this book and find out for yourself.

    I suggest to read anything written by Abbi Glines, because she is an amazing writer and everything she writes will have you laughing, crying, flustered, turned on, and wishing that you could have one of her leading men for yourself! At least that's what all her stories do for me. Nothing I write in this review will adequately describe how unbelievably wonderful this book or any other by Glines is, you will just have to take my word for it until you get one of her book and find out for yourself.

Breaking A Bad Boy by Susan Arden

My Rating---> 5 of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 19th, 2014

----THIS IS BOOK 6 IN THE BAD BOYS SERIES----

    Okay, soooooooo HOT!!! The story line was just okay, there wasn't much conflict and a lot of young indecisiveness but the sex scenes make up for that completely, and the writing was very well done. I like all the characters, Drew intrigued me the most) but I felt like I was walking into their lives without knowing anything about them. I'm not sure if that is because they have been introduced in one of the previous five books, but regardless of this fact Susan Arden made up for it by keeping me interested in what they are doing and not to mention hot a bothered!

    My feelings on Sommer are that she is the ultimate woman, she is kind, caring, creative, self reliant and extremely talented. I for the life of me can't figure out why she couldn't deal with waiting for marriage to have sex seeing as she seems to want no one by Rory, and her constantly pressuring him is not very cool. Men can only hold out so long before they give in and it is shocking that Rory lasted as long as he did before even experimenting with Sommer, but I am very impressed.

    Rory is the ultimate southern man, he is polite, kind, caring, hard working, protective and respectful. Not to mention he has only ever had eyes for Sommer, and isn't giving up or giving in until their wedding night, provided he can get her to say yes. God I love him and for a man that has no prior experience in the sack, he seems to be a natural born sex god! I absolutely loved this book and now that I have read book six I plan to go back and start at the beginning of the series, especially if the rest of the leading men are this hot!

    The sexual tension between these two is undeniable HOT, so hot that I was fanning myself through most of the book. What I didn't like about this book was the ending, it felt unfinished and left me wondering "what happens next?" and "How does their family react?". I just think that Arden could have ended the story less abruptly, but it did leave me wanting more and ready to read the series and the book after this, so maybe she is on to something.

The Obituary Society by Jessica L. Randall

My Rating---> 4 of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 18th, 2014

Amazon Link--> The Obituary Society

    Okay, I absolutely LOVED this book, so much so that I read it in four hours time. The mystery is great, the little old ladies dead set in their meddling ways, the bickering between Lila and a curtain hunky single father and the small town gossip. I laughed so hard my husband looked at me questioningly, I was constantly on the edge of my seat, and so curious about the dang pond through the whole book. Jessica L. Randall did a wonderful job, the writing was just amazing and I look forward to seeing more from Randall in the future.

    This story is about Lila who moved to the small community where her great-grandfather, grandfather, father, and aunt lived. After her grandfather, Isacc passes away, Lila inherits the house. She is excited to live there and looks forward to finally having roots and creating a future for herself. The house is old and in major need of fixing and while she begins the repairs on the house, strange things start to happen in that house. Her aunt, Ada isn't saying much of what the past held and is warning her away from the old pond in the back. This story has a fabulous combination of mystery and a bit of a romance in one.

    These characters were unforgettable, I have always loved the small country towns and not just because of the scenery but because of the gossipy, pushy, snoopy little old ladies that want to know everything before everyone and have to have the best cooking/baking in town. They are my favorite people ever and Randall captured them perfectly, right down to the love they share for one another and each others families.

    I am so glad I chose to read this delightfully quirky book, and I will be trying out these recipes in the back, and lastly I thank you Jessica L. Randall for sharing your talent with me.

Reapers, Inc. by Dave Hunter

My Rating---> 4 of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 18th, 2014

    Super short read, but well worth it! It is original and funny read. The main character Hadley is an average everyday kind of guy that works at a coffee place, at 35 yrs old. Serving coffee to the the strange old guy that shows up at opening every day and asks for "coffee, black", until he comes in and asks for something completely random and then offers Hadley a strange job opportunity that is too beneficial to pass up. Loved it and will be reading the next installment of this series, thank you and wonderfully done Dave Hunter!

Six Feet Over It by Jennifer Longo

My Rating---> 4 of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 18th, 2014

Amazon Link--> Six Feet Over It

    I really liked this book, Jennifer Longo is a phenomenal writer for this to be a debut book. This book talks about the heavy subject of death and what it entails in a fun, quirky and upbeat way. I loved the characters, especially Leigh. This fifteen year old girl has brains, snark, sarcasm, a work ethic like non other and so much compassion for others. But Leigh is also holding a lot in, she takes care of anything and everything thrown her way and never lets anyone lighten her burdens for her. When it all starts to weigh entirely too heavy upon her she still manages to keep up her witty attitude and slightly necrotic behavior.

    "Six Feet Over It" was nothing like I expected, I got it without reading the synopsis, a purchase made completely on the title (cause sometimes I'm random and impulsive) thinking it was going to be a grim reaper paranormal type read and it turned out to be so much more than a make believe story. I got friendship, love, grieving, and death in a witty and charming novel that deals with these which are some of the deepest issues in life.

    From what I gathered the author Jennifer Longo actually did live through a similar experience, he father bought a cemetery and had her working in the office from time to time, and planting flowers with her sister. So it was something she dealt with and grew up with. We learn at all different ages what death means and how to live with, learn from and through it.

    This truly is an amazing book, Longo is a fantastic writer that drew me in and held me the whole way through, I loved the characters and their wide range of personalities, and problems and how they all came together. I loved the internal dialog from Leigh and the battle of guilt and remorse that lived inside her. I learned a lot about myself and my own feelings on the topics that arose as well.

Just a Little Crush by Renita Pizzitola

My Rating---> 4 of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 17th, 2014

    This book is amazing! I absolutely loved it from the very start, who else flashed back to their first game of spin the bottle? Renita Pizzitola did a beautiful job with the writing in this book, it was detailed perfectly, had an amazing plot, and down to earth characters. I can't say enough how much I loved this book!!

    The best friend dynamic in this is amazing, my best friend is also of the opposite sex and we have always had a similar friendship. When you know someone so well after so long you don't even think about how others see your friendship. Brinley and Mason are just like that, best friends, comfortable together in almost any situation, but also slightly complicated.

    Mason is a chill guy, he's sweet, caring, understanding and he likes women..a lot, but he always put his best friend Brinley before any girl. After being friends with Brinley for so long he may be a bit confused about what kind of feelings he has for her, making his emotions go a little crazy when she starts spending time with someone she has claimed to hate since she was fifteen years old.

    Brinley is amazing, I loved her from the very start, only someone amazing would try to look her worst to go to a party! She is strong, confident, comfortable with herself, and has been harboring a HUGE crush on Ryder for the last four years. Brinley hasn't ever forgotten how amazing it was to have her very first kiss with Ryder after following him into a bathroom at a high school party.

    Ryder is a bit of a playboy, but has always had a crush on the beautiful Brinley ever since she gave him the best kiss of his life his sophomore year of high school, but he blew his shot by taking the low road and embarrassing her in front of everyone right after that kiss. I love Ryder, bad boy facade with his tattoos, and lip ring, but he's actually a bit scarred inside and is sweet, caring and easy to love.

    Pizzitola did an amazing job with this book and I look forward to reading more from her in the future, she is very talented, and knows how to weave a story!

Draw Me In by Regina Cole

My Rating---> 3 of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 17th, 2014

Preorder on Amazon--> Draw Me In

    This was a fairly good book, it was a fast read with a wonderful plot and decent writing. Regina Cole did really well with this book, I just feel like it was missing something, I didn't get sucked into the story or feel emotionally invested in the characters. I liked Hailey, she is a good person with ambitions and goals, but she was overly sensitive to her parents break up for someone who had to witness or hear the fights they frequently had. Hailey just didn't click with me as well as I wish she had.

    Neill, oh Neill he would make a perfect boy friend, lover and tattoo artist, but he is such a whinny guy. I felt like he didn't have any balls for a guy that had a rough up bringing and spent most of his life in a tattoo shop. oh she needs space, let me cry about, then get pissed and be a jerk. I just wasn't a fan of his personality, his body on the other hand...HUGE fan! The other guys from the tattoo shop, I did like they all had a great sense of humor, comradery and accepted Hailey in without a second thought.

    Like I said the plot was amazing, the conflict topics were great, this book has potential to be amazing but I just didn't feel it. I spent a lot of my life around drug addicts, tattoo artist, bikers and most of my friends were in college while I was just starting High School, so I know the type of people they can be and most are damaged emotionally from something or another from the past. Neill just didn't give off the right vibe for his background in this story. I hope it's just me that feels this way, and I am NOT saying that this book isn't worth reading, because although I sound negative about it, it was actually a REALLY GOOD BOOK. So don't take my opinion to heart too much, I'm kind of picky when it comes to particular subjects or character types.

Part-time Princess by Pamela DuMond

My Rating---> 4 out of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 16th, 2014

    This book was incredibly charming, witty, and fun! Pamela DuMond is an incredibly talented writer, and I am so glad I got a chance to read this book. The plot was great, the writing perfect and the characters were hilarious! I couldn't have been more please, from the very first page I was hooked in and fell in love with Lucy.

    Lucy is bold, outspoken, self reliant and always getting herself into situations that aren't ideal. She loses her job, because she defended a co-worker and stood up for her. But she doesn't only need a job to support herself but to keep her only relative out of a state facility. So Lucy hits the want adds hard, and comes across an interesting job add...

          "Part-Time Job:
   Personal Assistant Needed. You: Twenty-something. (Not actress years-real years.) Blonde. (Or willing to become blonde for this job's duration.)Medium height. Average weight. You are cute. Presentable. Can think on your feet. Willing to  travel for job. You like older people-they do not creep you out. You are not a huge partier, but can sip champagne or enjoy a hearty lager. You are not addicted to drugs or alcohol. You have a high school degree and preferably advanced degrees and/or are working toward that goal."

    ...now intrigued and seeing nothing else that wouldn't require being a driver for an alcoholic or becoming an escort, she goes to the interview. With little to no details she gets the job and, in a whirlwind of activities she gets primped, plucked, constantly scolded and taught how to be a lady, then flown off to Fredonia, a tiny kingdom in Europe. Lucy finds herself taking the place of Lady Elizabeth, who's hand has been promised to a Prince and taking her place for two weeks.

    Lucy finds herself falling in love with a prince, just not the right one! This book is funny, romantic, and full of bumps all along the way. Lucy is hilarious and I fell in love with all the characters in this book! I cannot wait to read the next in this series and many more things written by DuMond!

The Other Life by Susanne Winnacker

    Holy..YES! I loved, loved, LOVED this book!!! Zombies, are awesomely entertaining normally, but Susanne Winnacker gave them a whole new twist and man is it amazing!! The story is great, the plot is slightly predictable (but what Zombie book doesn't have a search and rescue involved?), the writing amazing, the characters are perfect and the action is practically non-stop! Winnacker you rock and I cannot wait to read the rest of this series!!!

    Sherry and her family are locked in their underground bunker as most of the human race to hide and wait for the government to advise that it is safe to come out, all because of an outbreak of an advanced strain of rabies. It has been "98,409,602 seconds since the heavy, steel door had fallen shut and sealed us off from the world." and the stockpile of food has finally run out, so Sherry and her father decide to venture out to fine more.

    From the moment the door to the underground bunker opens it is a non-stop action and drama packed adventure. The plot twists will keep you on the edge of your seat, and I loved how each chapter ends with a snip-it or snap shot into Sherry's "Other Life" as a segue into the next chapter. what I couldn't stand was the end, we get a HUGE reveal and that's it, that pissed me off a bit but, even though it's a HUGE cliffhanger, Winnacker couldn't have made it a better leave off for the next book. I can't think of what else to say other than it is amazing, and you need to go read it to believe it!

Adam's List By Jennifer Ann

My Rating---> 3 of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 14th, 2014

    This was a good book, I wasn't blown away by it or anything but it was a good book. The story line was good, parts of it were a bit predictable in my opinion, but overall it was a good read. It wasn't too long or drawn out, with a good pace, the writing was done nicely, though it had it's confusing moments, like what color Adam's eyes are (they were described as three different colors throughout the book), and the characters were decent.

    I didn't like Jewels much if at all until about mid book when Jewels is down for the count in bed "sick" from a party the night before. From that point on she seemed to be a different person, not my favorite person mind you, but better than she was. But again, I don't like how she treats Adam some of the time. Adam is amazing, he's strong willed, kind, caring, slightly mysterious, and just all around a wonderful person. Kelly, is awesome and I wish she were my best friend, she is all around an amazing character as well. Then there is Theo, I in so in love with Theo that I can't stand it! There needs to be another book where he and Kelly get together, because I love them both!

    I may be being really picky and weird about this book for some reason, maybe I'm just hormonal today, but I didn't really get the warm fuzzies from this book, and I have a feeling that is because of Jewels. If it weren't for her being slightly self centered, and extremely sex craved I would have felt more into this story. I did however love the story itself, the sex scenes were done very well, really steamy and the sexual energy and tension throughout the book was perfect. Jennifer Ann, you did well and I hope to read more from you in the future (hopefully about Kelly and Theo, yum!).

Kiss a Stranger by R.J. Lewis

My Rating---> 4 out of 5 STARS

Amazon Link--> Kiss a Stranger

   I was impressed by this book! I read the book description and thought, "why not, it sounds interesting", and it was but it was also way more. I enjoyed the characters, the writing was really well done. R.J. Lewis is an incredible writer and has a way with characters, the story had depth and an unexpected twist. I was shocked, sad, outraged and giddy for the characters as they went through things.

    Claire is an outgoing girl who knows she's gorgeous, could get any guy she wants, and often does. Until a stupid, hurtful and drunk decision leads her to a dark alley one night and something awful happens to Claire that changes her life and her irrevocably. She leans heavily on her mother and her best friend, Emily to get her by in her day to day, with out them she would become a hermit in her hobo clothes. Emily is amazing, she is out going, full of life, and a true party girl through and through, but she is also a true friend and would do just about anything for Claire.

    Then there is Ben, he is tall, handsome, and dark. I'm not just talking about his hair and the way he dresses, he is mysterious and keeps a lot of things to himself, the real cards to the chest kind of guy. But he is enthralled by Clair from the start, and when he pops back into her life after a year of no contact, he still finds her irresistible damage, baggage and all. But will his secrecy be their undoing? Go get the book and find out!

    I also really really enjoyed Jamie, he is a character I would enjoy reading more about, I want something to happen between he and Emily. I think that would be steamy, dreamy and the two of their personalities together would be hilarious! This was an amazing read, it was well done all around by Lewis, it wasn't too long which made it a quick and easy read, had LOTS of steamy sex scenes and the plot was amazing!

Fae by C.J. Abedi

My Rating---> 3 out of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 12th, 2014

    I hate having to write bad reviews! That being said just because I didn't like this book doesn't mean that you wont like it, to each his own and all that. Overall I think with some changes and some editorial help this book would be much better and keep the reader hooked and fully engaged/immersed in the story. The writing wasn't have bad, the story line although slightly reminiscent of "Twilight" was actually really original. The characters were pretty self absorbed and very love sick teen. At one point I fell asleep while reading this book, that has only happened to me once before and lets just say again I hate writing bad reviews.

    Now the story wasn't half bad, but it was so slow-paced that it became boring really quick. I usually really enjoy when the author builds up the plot, it makes it more dramatic, but this was just too slow. I also didn't appreciate the information overload at the beginning of each chapter, it was incredibly annoying and only slowed down the progression of the story. Then the ending of the book was so jumbled and incohesive that I had to re-read it several times before I fully understood what happened.

    So this story is about Devilyn and Caroline, who are, surprise surprise, part of a Prophecy from before their time. Devilyn is the seemingly unwanted son of the oldest Elder of the Dark Fae and a Light Fae woman. The Prophecy states that it's Devilyn's destiny to protect and love Caroline, who is the heiress to the throne of the Light Fae, and is destined to be their future Queen and also destined to give her life for them. Caroline happens to know nothing of her heritage, her destiny or this Prophecy.

    For originality, you may find me strange, but I feel that C.J. Abedi went in a completely, previously unthought of direction by adding in the Norse mythology. Although it could have been incorporated into the story in a more convincing manor. Where were the other Norse Deities? Loki, Thor, Ullr, Ran, Elli, Freyja? I think the presence of any of the other gods would have made a significant impact to the overall story seeing as we see a lot of Odin in this book, being a father to Devilyn. We got to see a bit of The Valkyries and even The Vikings, why not some other the other Deities?

    Now here is the kicker, I may have been harsh in this review but the book as a whole was actually pretty good. Will I be reading the follow up to this? YOU BET! I have to know what happens next and I hope that Abedi takes these reviews into consideration and adds onto the story that she has created.

New Point by Olivia Luck

My Rating---> 3 out of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 11, 2014

    This was a cute romance with a dark undertone. I loved the writing and the story Olivia Luck wove, the characters were complex and realistic, and the story line is original, fresh and unique. Luck created a genuine and intriguing story with secrets, suspense, passion and romance. This story made me realize that everything is just a matter of how you perceive it, and Zoe doesn't realize she has bravery, heart and courage in abundance.

    Zoe is a sweet librarian, that loves children and couldn't imagine her life not working and helping children learn. But she has a lot of fear and anxiety problems and is working her way through it all slowly, with therapy and with the support of her half brother and guardian, Blake. Zoe takes up residence in her late mother's house on a beach in New Point to get away, try to relax and work through her problems, her first day at the house she meet Miles. Miles is a really nice guy, he owns his own bar and has a few insecurities of his own because of a past failed relationship. Miles has an amazing family and is instantly smitten with Zoe. They start off slow with their relationship and the hit a few rough spots along the way but the real story isn't the romance, although it's there is spades, it's about a past traumatic event that has made Zoe doubt herself and everything she is. But with Miles' love and the help of a great psychologist, and a twist she makes it through.

    This is a wonderful story that touch my heart, and I would love to see the next in the series. Olivia Luck you are a great writer and I plan to read more of your work.

Musical Intrude Series by KaSonndra Leigh Book 1 & 1.5

The Prelude by KaSonndra Leigh

My Rating---> 4 out of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 9th, 2014

    Good girl with tragic past meets bad boy with more tragic and rough past, steamy sexy romance with a Russian twist, how could you go wrong!?! KaSonndra Leigh did a wonderful job with this story and the characters! I wish there had been a bit more getting to know Erin and Alek before they meet but overall the way they meet, the whirlwind romance and the way Alek sweeps Erin off her feet it done very nicely.

    I really liked the whole cast of characters, they were all young, extremely talented and had a comradery between them even when they were at odds with one another they felt like a hodgepodge self made family. Even though some of them were real family they were all a part of something that felt like more than friends. I wasn't a fan of Katerina's at first, she is mean and ruthless, but you see her vulnerable side in glimpses and you realize she is scared and hurting. I felt there was a small crush going from Nikolai to Adriana, but there is also Luca, so I'm sensing a love triangle (maybe another book) going on.

    I greatly enjoyed Erin, she is a very smart and EXTREMELY talented young woman, she is a fantastic clothing designer, an impressive dancer, and wonderful singer. But Erin has lived the last five years refusing to allow love to happen for her because of a tragic accident, because of this she is very closed off. Alek is sexy charming, extremely talented, ambitious, and refuses to take no as an answer. He has been WAY too much in his short Russian-American life and was a strict and closed off man.

    When Alek and Erin meet it's all bets off and things heat up and get interesting very quickly. Secrets get reviled, emotions go haywire and walls get torn down. These two together are dynamite, have tons of chemistry, passion, and sexual tension.

    This book is filled with not only romance, sexual tension, love and passion, intrigue, danger and humor but also talent. Lots and lots of talent, in all different forms of art, maestros, musicians, dancers, singers, artists, and designers were all present. There was also lots of traveling around Europe, places like La Scala, Capri, Florence, Lake Como, Milan, the Duomo, and the Galleria to name a few. This book was exciting, exotic, passion filled and crazy good! It's worth cracking open and taking a peek, you wont be sorry that you did.

An Aria in Venice by KaSonndra Leigh

My Rating---> 5 out of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 10th, 2014

    This was even better than KaSonndra Leigh's first book in this series, "The Prelude", I loved the sassy, take charge of her life Adriana and the smooth talking, player Luca! These two are fantastic from the start!! KaSonndra Leigh did a wonderful job, the writing is done very well, the story line is awesome, the characters, again, are amazing and everything flowed really well together. I was impressed with how well Leigh was able to go from drama to comedy to romance and back again so effortlessly, KaSanndra Leigh you are a very talented writer!

    Leigh uses alternating first-person voice, telling this story through the eyes of Luca Martuccio, Adriana Dostovsky and Nikolai Belikov, characters that were introduced in "The Prelude". I love the way you get to hear from each of their POV as the story is unfolding and see what and how they are thinking and feeling, how they each respond and react toward what is happening.

    Adriana is, like all of the characters so far in this series, young and extremely talented. She is struggling to become the talented ballerina that everyone knows her to be, as well as dealing with an overbearing mother, an over protective older brother, as well as coping with the absent father they fled from. While Adriana is trying to become a lead ballerina, her love life is going nowhere. All because she has been in love with Nikolai for as long as she can remember.

    Nikolai is also a ballerina and is in charge of his own company of dancers, he works along side Alek, his best comrade and Adriana's older brother. Nik is a swinger, that enjoys his sex parties and debauchery. He loves Adriana fiercely, but is afraid of what it would mean for his friendship with Alek,  and if Adriana would be able to accept his darker side and his sexual appetites, so he pushes Adriana away and tells her to move on.

    Luca is a talented designer that owns his own company, he's knows as a playboy that knows how to hook women, and is great at making his Juliette's feel special for a night. Luca is dealing with a difficult past, his family, the troubles they are going through, and his love sick mother. In the midst of all that his brother somehow ropes Adriana into spending a week in Venice with him and his family.

    I fell in love with the city as Adriana, Luca and his mother, Simona, traveled and Simona showed Adriana everything and place dear to her. I LOVE Simona, she is an amazing woman and I love the bond between her and Adriana. This whole story is amazing and I am so glad I read this book! Please give it a chance and read it! There is a magic to the way Leigh portrays the city and the love each character shows and the way they show it. This book and the series come HIGHLY recommended by me!

Floating Boy and the Girl Who Couldn't Fly by Stephen Graham Jones and Paul Tremblay

My Rating---> 3 out of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 8th, 2014

    This book had an interesting plot. I enjoyed the fantasy of this story, the writing is impeccably done, everything flowed well and had a good pace and the characters were all very interesting. That being said, I had a hard time getting into the book, I don't know if it was just me but I felt like this boy with no name that can float around was such a lost child, and that there could have been a lot more to this story. I do love things like this though, people with unique powers or are "gifted".

    The characters are great, Mary the anxiety ridden teen trying to solve a mystery so that people would believe her about the floating boy. Mary is funny, anxious, always on the move and constantly thinking, thinking, thinking. The floating boy is a lost soul, he's sad lonely and clueless, the two of them together make for an interesting pair. I love the best friend, the policeman's son and the football boys. Everyone who isn't normally friends or don't usual pair up end up working together.

    Stephen Gramham Jones did well with this book and it's concept, cast of characters, and the writing. I personally wasn't entirely sold on this book, but would like to see a sequel because of the twist ending for Mary. I do think if you like fantasy, some mystery, and a bit of humor that you should definitely pick up this book.
