I was impressed by this book! I read the book description and thought, "why not, it sounds interesting", and it was but it was also way more. I enjoyed the characters, the writing was really well done. R.J. Lewis is an incredible writer and has a way with characters, the story had depth and an unexpected twist. I was shocked, sad, outraged and giddy for the characters as they went through things.
Claire is an outgoing girl who knows she's gorgeous, could get any guy she wants, and often does. Until a stupid, hurtful and drunk decision leads her to a dark alley one night and something awful happens to Claire that changes her life and her irrevocably. She leans heavily on her mother and her best friend, Emily to get her by in her day to day, with out them she would become a hermit in her hobo clothes. Emily is amazing, she is out going, full of life, and a true party girl through and through, but she is also a true friend and would do just about anything for Claire.
Then there is Ben, he is tall, handsome, and dark. I'm not just talking about his hair and the way he dresses, he is mysterious and keeps a lot of things to himself, the real cards to the chest kind of guy. But he is enthralled by Clair from the start, and when he pops back into her life after a year of no contact, he still finds her irresistible damage, baggage and all. But will his secrecy be their undoing? Go get the book and find out!
I also really really enjoyed Jamie, he is a character I would enjoy reading more about, I want something to happen between he and Emily. I think that would be steamy, dreamy and the two of their personalities together would be hilarious! This was an amazing read, it was well done all around by Lewis, it wasn't too long which made it a quick and easy read, had LOTS of steamy sex scenes and the plot was amazing!
