I absolutely LOVED this book start to finish!! Lost, vulnerable, and dealt a bad hand, two amazingly strong kids, despite everything find a best friend, confidant, eventual lover and everything they didn't find at home, in each other. Then it all gets torn away from them, a year later they get thrown back together again and then you find out why it happened (and it made me cry). The characters and their unique complex relationships are amazing. I am head over heels in love with Ash and Katie, the hardships they have both gone through and the fact they have always had each other, someone whom is and always will be willing to do anything for the other. The things they went through as children making it hard to do anything but mistrust, and flee constantly, and the growing to understand that fleeing from things doesn't help end the cycle. I have always been a sucker for the best friends become lovers story and this puts a whole new twist on that, not to mention, what the heck is up with the family mystery aspect for poor Katie?! I cannot wait to read the next book and find out what happens next. There are so many unanswered questions I have and am going to be thinking about this book until I can get them all answered!! So, good!!!!
