This was WAY more than just a love story! There was so much more to it, Toby and Claudia are complete opposites but in their way perfect for one another. There was no stupid INSTA-LOVE between these two, only a long time crush from our male lead, Toby, hoping to finally make his move!
I loved these characters, they are all strong individuals, with lives, and complexities all their own, but when put into this story in the way they were all fit together perfectly! Our leads are complete opposites with totally differing lives that are headed into completely different directions. But Toby and Claudia though contrasting are also complimenting each other's personalities perfectly, Toby brings out Claudia's inner bad girl a bit and makes her a bit more adventurous, where Claudia brings out all the best things hidden in Toby. His hard childhood, wondering lost adulthood and inability to deal with his angry somehow draw Claudia in and capture her heart.
Suzanne McKenna did a wonderful job with this book, the writing was great, descriptive, and drew me in from the start, I couldn't put it down and was constantly on the edge of my seat wanting to find out what was going to be blown up over next! The heart and passion behind the characters, along with their very normal and realistic flaws, make them instantly lovable, easy to relate to, and I found myself connecting to the story, the pain, loss, betrayal, and helplessness. I loved this book and plan to read much more from Suzanne McKenna!
