My Rating---> 3 out of 5 STARS
Read on Sept. 1st, 2014
I was impressed with the authors writing, the depth, emotion, the objectivity and openness with religion and the flow of the story was all very well done. This is an extremely unique story line and new kind of read for me. I haven't really been one to read much about religion or ghosts. I personally felt it was too much on the religion side, which was slightly strange with the sexual content, it made for an interesting read.
The characters were the turning point for me, the development of the characters and the depth of feeling and emotion that you get from Alex, Leila and also a lot from "Loser" aka Dani really make this story and counter the religion, and strangeness that the ghost sex bring into it. I wish that with all the sexual openness, and religion talk in this book that Michael Haley would have touch on the lesbian topic a bit more than he did, but I understand it would have taken the book to a different place that wouldn't have fit much. I could have done without the word "dude" being said a million times and that is saying something considering I am born and raised in Santa Cruz, California, where surfing and it's lingo is as common place as breathing.
