John Dreamer by Elise Celine

My Rating---> 4 out of 5 STARS

Read on Sept. 3rd, 2014

    Where to start? The photos throughout the book, were beautiful, breathtaking and fit the story perfectly. I'm not used to seeing pictures in my books anymore and it was a welcome and very much appreciated surprise, that also livened up the book a bit as well.

    The writing was done exceptionally well, it was easy to read and I flew through the book very quickly. I really like the story line as well as the characters. My favorite is the Guardian, he is pure emotion, funny, silly, caring, compassionate, he says what he wants, does what he wants, and is just plain awesome, he reminds me of Willy Wonka. The love story mixed into this story is innocent, sweet, and refreshingly charming. I really enjoyed the comedic banter between the characters, and with the Guardian. Elise Celine did a wonderful job with the dreamers and their dreams, the imagery and detail is perfect.

    I loved the setting of The Great White Room, it's a clean slate, the start of something, it was perfectly reminiscent of starting a dream. Each dreamer has to find him or herself while completing a test of some sort, all the tests are different for each one of the teens trapped in The Great White Room, and they come on suddenly and randomly. Then there is one, two, three, four....five, six, seven, eight, eight and a half seconds of darkness and a person disappears, after completing the test.

    I don't want to say any more because I don't want to give anything away, but this is a great story that made me feel like magic can exist, even if only in dreams, that love is something that exists even if we feel it is only a dream, and that we make and shape our own lives by merely believing in ourselves enough to conquer our fears.
